So I found these pictures of a Russian monastery on a lake island called Valaam near St Petersburg and they are amazing. The monastery is called the Valaam Monastery and the lake is called Ladoga, the lake is the biggest in Europe and is over 200km long, that’s longer than the Eiffel tower. It’s deepest spot is about 200m deep, which is deeper than the deep end in ten swimming pools on top of each other.
The monastery its self was founded at least 500 years ago, but may even be as old as 1000 years, which is older than Paul McCartney and Terry Wogan added together. Enjoy these moody shots like I just have:
